China's gold imports via Hong Kong saw a decrease in January, registering their lowest since April 2022, as per the data from the Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department.
The total gold imported by China through Hong Kong in January stood at 13.816 metric tons. This figure is a reduction from the 25.007 tons that were imported in December. The data indicated a 44.8% drop in imports from December to January.
The Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department released these figures on Tuesday. The decline in gold imports marks a significant shift from the December imports, which were significantly higher.
