Russia is reproducing reserves of precious metals at a pace faster than production, Oleg Kazanov, head of Rosnedra, told RIA Novosti in an interview.
"For gold and silver, we are also starting to reproduce reserves relative to production. For gold, for example, 542 tons of reserves were increased, for comparison, production in 2024 was 477.6 tons, " he said.
For silver, the figure was 4.4 thousand tons of reserves with production of 2.4 thousand, the agency's interlocutor said.
"We are restoring the raw material base at a faster pace," Kazanov concluded.
As reported in the GKZ, the increase in gold reserves in Russia by the end of 2024 amounted to almost 900 tons, and silver — 2.8 thousand tons.
