Flynn ramps up Golden Ridge exploration

Flynn Gold (ASX:FG1) is resuming surface trenching at the Golden Ridge Project in northeast Tasmania as the company evaluates establishing a regional gold processing hub.

The company has received approval from Mineral Resources Tasmania for eight trenches totalling around 400m at the Brilliant prospect at Golden Ridge, designed to test for extensions of ‘high-grade’ gold mineralisation in the 3km contact zone between the Brilliant and Trafalgar deposits.

Managing Director and CEO Neil Marston says the focus remains on testing shallow extensions to the gold mineralisation in the contact zone.

“Within this contact zone, we have a number of targets which have not yet been drill tested, presenting us with a great opportunity to expand the scale of the Golden Ridge Project,” Marston says.

“We will also be advancing our plans to assess the feasibility of establishing a gold processing hub at Golden Ridge, with more detailed metallurgical test work and environmental surveys to commence shortly.”

The trenching program aims to verify historical results, including 34.5m at 1.37 grams per tonne gold, and test for extensions of shallow mineralisation along trend to the northeast of historical workings and previous drilling.

Flynn has applied for approval to drill up to 21 holes totalling around 2,500m at the Brilliant prospect, following completion of the trenching program.

The company says completion of both programs should enable generation of a mineral resource estimate at the Brilliant prospect.

Flynn is also evaluating Golden Ridge’s potential as a future northeast Tasmanian gold processing hub, given most of its regional gold exploration assets are located within 70km of the site with good road access.

Environmental surveys of potential sites will commence over the coming months as part of the approvals process.

Flynn Gold is focused on advancing ‘high-grade’ gold exploration and discovery in Tasmania.
